Bob Luton Commodities & Gold Investing Pioneer

Welcome to my website, my name is Bob Luton and I am a commodities investor. A lot of people call me a genius when it comes to trading gold but I really am not. What I am is an experienced trader who focuses solely on gold. This gives me a very detailed knowledge of how the price of gold moves, something that really helps with my trading.

A Bit About My Career

My career as a commodities investor started after I graduated from the University of Chicago and I took a job with a firm that trades derivatives at the Chicago Board of Trade. When I first started working there my job was in research, I was there to provide information to the guys who actually made the trades. The job was a great learning experience since I was able to learn what to look for in a profitable trade. I also learned a lot from watching the way the traders did things, it was really eye opening.

After a couple of years in research I got the chance to become a trader myself. My first assignment was to trade oil futures for the company. This proved to be a real challenge, since the price of oil can really fluctuate. However I quickly learned that once you got a feel for the way that oil moved it was pretty easy to make the right decision. At least that's what I thought for awhile; as soon as I thought I had things figured out the price of oil would do something unexpected.

After a few years of trading oil on behalf of my employer I decided that I wanted to go out on my own. I figured that I knew enough about trading commodities that I could do a lot better trading with my own money. However I also decided that I needed to trade something that was less volatile than oil if I was going to be putting my own money into it. This is when I decided that I would focus on gold. One of the lesions that I had learned was that the best traders focused on only one commodity and got to know it intimately, I decided that I would do that with gold.

Over the years I have developed a reputation as a genius when it comes to investing in gold. In reality of course I am nothing of the sort. The success that I have had has been based mostly on having a very good knowledge of how gold moves and then applying that to my trades. Nobody is going to be right on every trade, the key is to minimize your losses when you are wrong and maximize your profits when you are right. My intimate knowledge of gold has come in handy here since I can usually tell pretty quickly whether I am right or wrong.
